Year of Rembrandt Update

At NAMTA this year we kicked off the Year of Rembrandt in North America!  With new product, retailer programs and a global, juried art contest, it was a major event for us this year in San Antonio!

Here's what's new with the Year of Rembrandt:

The global art competition has begun, with artists from around the globe vying for their spot among the 12 semi-finalists who will win a trip to the Netherlands to be part of a very special visit to our Factory in Apeldoorn, with a tour and private masterclasses.  They will have a tour of the sights in Amsterdam as well as a private tour of the Rijksmuseum, where this year "all the Rembrandts" will be out and the most famous; the Night's Watch" will be restored in public.  The finalists will then have dinner in the Rijksmuseum Library under the artwork selected in the competition.

You can encourage your customers and friends to join the contest by following the instructions here, and posting a high res image on their social media pages, with the hashtag #RembrandtArtExperience and tagging your country as well (#USA for example).  We encourage you to use the image below to share this contest with your followers! For official contest rules please visit RembrandtArtExperience.com.

Along with the global art competition, we have also done additional training with 12 of our Ambassadors, specifically around this event several weeks ago in Apeldoorn, where the Ambassadors got the full experience of both the Royal Talens factory and specialized education at the Rijksmuseum.  Look for these highly influential artists making waves online for the Rembrandt brand this year. We have just about finalized the twelve locations in North America which will be dedicated as Year of Rembrandt boutiques for the year, each in a major market to attract attention to this campaign and create a unique and rich experience throughout the year.  There are still exciting ways to participate with upcoming endcaps, new products, store signage and a limited edition "Rembrandt's Palette" set (item no. 01820410) which is available to all with much support in the way of demonstrations and special promotions for those who invest in this level of support for the program, but do not qualify for the 18 units we have in North America for the large, $3500 MSRP set pictured below (item no. 01840120).

With new products, such as Rembrandt Soft Pastel Micro Sets, Rembrandt pastel, watercolor and oil papers, and more to come in the second half of the year, it will be quite a year for this storied brand!  We are as excited as you are for all of these events!
